THE ULTIMATE COIN COLLECTION
The 8th Air Force played a huge role during WWII, with around 40 Bombardment Groups and 15 Fighter Groups. Every month, we’ll be releasing a new set of Bombardment or Fighter Group Coins. These Coins are in-stock and will ship shortly after you make your purchase! When we finish this incredible journey, we'll have crafted approximately 275 unique coins! By placing this order, you will receive a single copy of the coin listed in the title. This purchase also includes a protective capsule for your coin. Additional accessories such as display stands and display cases may be purchased separately.
THE COINS
Each coin is 50mm in diamter (2 inches) with a gold finish. What makes them special is our unique process to create the 3D relief on each coin, like a reverse carving! It all starts with research to find the correct artwork from the WWII time period. We then take that artwork to our sculptor and the artwork is turned into a full 3D carving! That carving is then hand painted by our master painter and we use special software to convert the painting into an ink profile and the carving is converted into an embossing profile and goes to our special printer where we print in 3D at incredibly high resolution on each coin on both sides. The result is astounding!
